As an Independent Educational Consultant, I work both in person with students in the Richmond, VA area and virtually across the country. I use my many years of experience as a school-based college counselor and high school teacher to guide students and families through the college search, application, and decision-making process in a way that lowers stress for everyone and builds confidence for the transition ahead. My inclusive approach is welcoming to students and families of all backgrounds, traditions, and identities. I enjoy working with all kinds of students, regardless of academic profile and college goals.
Why Guidewheel?
In industrial manufacturing, a guide wheel is a mechanical part that guides the machinery along its intended path. The guide wheel does not do the heavy work itself; rather, it pilots and steers the heavy machinery so it can do its job with precision.
As a college counselor, I operate like a guide wheel, steering the student and family in the direction of their goals, supporting them under stress, and keeping them on track.
